Consider this: Ever wish you were the boss? You get to make all of the decisions. Let’s say you were boss and you were on a mission. You come up with this brilliant idea for a business. It’s so good you get on Shark Tank. If you aren’t familiar with the show it is where budding entrepreneurs come pitch their business idea to a group of multi-millionaires, the sharks, hoping to have them partner with you and get their financial backing. You pitch your idea. All of the Sharks are in! Even Mr. Wonderful. The cantankerous one. The sharks give you an unlimited budget to build your dream team. But YOU choose your team.
Who would you hire? The best and brightest? Remember, you have an unlimited budget. Would you choose a talented celebrity spokes person, world-class marketing team, and maybe a dedicated staff to get your message out to the world. Makes sense?
BUT … That’s not how God works.
In fact it seems God loves to do the exact opposite. It’s clearly explained in the Bible, by the way if you don’t own a Bible, we give out free easy to read versions at the Velcro Bar. Just grab one if you’d like. Let’s take a look at: 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. This presentation was delivered to a Christian Woman’s audience in Cedar City, UT in Jan 2025.
(Reminder, this is just a journal of my mistakes, experiences, and thoughts, along with my journey to having a closer relationship with God. I do not claim to be an authority on the subject. If you want to know The Way, read The Bible.)
