Heard a great sermon from a friend David Parker, who was in the Game Show with me. His message made me think. The gist of what he was saying was sometimes we don’t need to make God first (hold on, don’t judge yet), but instead make God a part of what we do.
When you are at work do you look at it as working for your boss, your company or God? I was reminded we are to work as if for God. Him. He’s really our boss.
Colossians 3:23
…22Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything, not only to please them while they are watching, but with sincerity of heart and fear of the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,24because you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Not sure about you, but for me it is a perspective changer. It makes me think more like my company is a ministry. Someone said that once and I kind of chuckled. Well, what if I look at it that way? What if I ran it that way? What would I do differently? Hmmm. Work unto the Lord, not men.
(Reminder, this is just a journal of my mistakes, experiences, and thoughts along with my journey to having a closer relationship to God. I do not claim to be an authority on the subject. If you want to know The Way, read The Bible.)
What church do I attend? Verve Church in Las Vegas
