I love my friend and Pastor, Vince Antonucci. He has helped me go from knowing God to having a relationship with Him. I must say, and he will back this up, that for many years he frustrated me! He has this amazing ability to connect The Bible teachings realistically to today. I love his sermons.
Years ago I used to give Vince compliments on his sermon, and he would always reflect on it and give God all of the credit. I would say, “But you did the work and allowed Him to work through you!” He would have none of it. Man, it bugged me.
As persistent as I was, so was Vince. He never let up. Then I started to get the connection that we are supposed to point people to God and give Him the glory. That was what Vince was doing! Yikes. My bad.
For many years I received all the compliments I got from speaking and articles I’d write. Why would I not? That’s why. Him. If I’m truly a believer I must give Him credit. He gave me the talent and the persistence to nurture it. My bad. I read a passage in The Bible where it said that King Herod gave an amazing speech and took all of the credit so God struck him down. Yikes!
Now I’m much clearer and people tell me they see a change in me since the last time they saw me speak. I’ve been told they see much more peace in me. When people love my speeches now, I realize, “It’s not me, it’s the Him in me they see.”
