I wish you could have been standing there next to Vinnie and me, on Tuesday night when we both looked up and saw his brand new billboard. We didn’t say a word. We just looked at each other and grinned. Wow. I got choked up. Vinnie was the most excited I’ve ever seen him.
After starting stand-up comedy in the mid 80’s, any comedian’s dream would be to have their own show. Not only that, but their own show in Vegas would be even better. On the Vegas strip would be the ultimate. Having a billboard on a major hotel would be even better.
That is reaching the top for sure. One of my comedy mentors, who is incredibly talented, has still had to struggle and prove himself. He had headlined the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana a few weeks a year. Then he got his own show at Binions (old downtown Vegas). He got to the Vegas strip three years ago, having his own showroom at O’Shea’s.
Even if you HAVE talent, you still need to make mistakes, good decisions and work at your craft. Now, he has just achieved the ultimate.
What does the achievement of a dream look like?
