Living and Laughing with Cancer:
A Comedian’s Journey by Dave Fitzgerald
Comedian Fitzgerald, a two-time cancer patient, discusses his experience with the disease and how he coped. He talks about his decisions and the reasons he made those choices; he recommends being upfront with family and friends, researching treatment options, being involved in one’s own recovery, allowing friends and family to help, and keeping a sense of humor. Most of all, he stresses sticking to one’s normal activities as much as possible. Brief and to the point this tape is enjoyable as well as encouraging and demonstrates that there is life after cancer. Recommended for public libraries with nonfiction audio collections.
