(Reminder, this is just a journal of my mistakes, experiences, and thoughts along my journey to having a closer relationship to God. I do not claim to be an authority on the subject. If you want to know The Way, read the Bible.)
I was surprised to learn that there is a verse in the Bible where God challenges us to test Him. ESV Malachi 3:10:
Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be a flood in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no need.
My understanding is that this is the only place in the Bible where God says to test Him. This is remarkable, but it also made me think, what if God has faith in you and me, as he had in Job? What if God believes in us and allows the enemy to test us? Would you pass the test?
What if that person who was rude and pulled out in front of you was a test? What if the person who lied to you was a test? What if it is all just a test?
I guess I need to ask myself a question: Would I get a better grade today than I did yesterday? I’m embarrassed to say that it depends on what day you ask me. It is easier to pass on happy days than it is on frustrating ones. What can you do today to see that you do better tomorrow?
What if every day is a test until we pass?
Thank you, God, for Grace, Truth, Love, and Laughter,
Darren
P.S. Thank you, especially, for grace.
