Proverbs 22:22-24
“Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man,
lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.”
When I read this, I feel that many proverbs inspired motivational speaking. When I read this particular one, I think of the Jim Rohn quote:
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
It makes me step back and think. With whom do I spend the most time? Are those people the same this year as they were last year? Am I going in the right direction?
People around us affect us for good or bad. As I feel myself getting closer to God, I realize how far away I was just a year ago. I’m thankful for the people I have in my life. I’m also wondering how I affect those who allow me in their lives. I want to work on becoming someone people want to be around.
I love Proverbs, and I know others in the speaking world do as well. Do you? Why do you think that is?

I love Proverbs too. I think it is easier for me to wrap my brain around because each proverb is so succinct.
Darren, one of the gifts you give all of us is your authenticity. It is a reminder to us not to hide, to be authentic, to be always striving for excellence.
Proverbs is an amazing guide for wise godly living. I think it deals with everything and anything you may face in life. As a kid I remember my mum asking me to read one chapter a day so that I would complete all 31 chapters in a month. This certainly helped me in my decision making situations. It still does.
Thanks for being open about your faith and for being honest with any challenges you may face as you grow closer to God.

You have a gift for connecting common challenges to simple solutions. Your titles catch our attention and bring us in. Thanks for being concise and memorable, real and reachable.
Proverbs is a book of wisdom… If you’re going to stand before people, whether it’s 10 or 10 thousand, you should have something of value to give them. What has more value than wisdom? And not just man-made wisdom, but supernatural wisdom from the very Word of God.
