As I continue learning more through my Bible reading, I recently had an epiphany. I had heard the story of Peter’s denial of Jesus three times over and over again. I had also heard that Jesus called Peter the rock upon which he was going to build his church. Until my readings this week, I had never connected those two diametrically opposed stories.
Think about it. Would you trust your whole family or business to a person who had lied to you and denied that they even knew you? Yikes. As I thought the idea through a little more, I realized that maybe Peter had to feel that immeasurable pain of realizing what he had done so that he could actually become the rock. That pain may have been exactly what he needed to increase his belief and become the rock.
Maybe some of our own mistakes, embarrassments, or denials, along with the feelings that follow them, are what we actually need to have more faith. Think about it. I am.
Thank you, God, for Truth, Love, and Laughter.
God time, God time, God Time,

2 Corinthians 1:6. If we have afflictions and trials it’s so that we can comfort others and possibly for their salvation. So let’s encourage one another and plant some seeds of salvation.
I had a confrontation with a friend a while back and he said why try? I ask God to give me an answer for this man and I sat down and wrote a song called why try? And the chorus went like this.
We try because it’s a witness
to the body and to the world
that what we have in Christ Jesus
goes beyond some silly quarrel
He loved us first and loves us still
and gives us all we need to put another first
and plant a healing seed
Oh so painfully true………..
One thing I think Peter’s denial did was to make him more grateful, more cognizant of who Jesus was and what He was doing. From Peter’s perspective, how badly would you want to make sure that you didn’t blow it a second time!
