Have you ever doubted your faith? Good!
If John the Baptist, who was related to Jesus and knew him, had doubts, you and I should not worry if we doubt at times. That, however, is not the point of this post.
Did you ever wonder why we suffer? Me, too. Why would God let that happen? While John was in prison he knew that Jesus could save him but didn’t. Imagine how much he must have wondered why?
John’s dramatic death became a story that has lived for over 2000 years. Think of how many people on the planet have heard that story. How many lives have been impacted by the life that he lived. I don’t pretend to understand all of this; I’m just sharing my thoughts as I continue my journey.
If Jesus had saved John, does it make sense that today we would not have the powerful example John has given us? John did not know his suffering would be a story that would teach the world and serve us for years to come. Maybe our suffering is part of God’s plan that we cannot possibly comprehend now?
If you are a presenter, your woes can be your audience’s wows. Because you have suffered, you are uniquely qualified to help people who face the same challenges. If you are given the privilege of the platform, share your challenges along with your successes. We don’t know how God will use our story; maybe we are not supposed to, like John.
Thank you, God, for Grace, Truth, Love, and Laughter,
Darren
P.S. Thank you, especially, for grace.
