OK, growing up Catholic, I’ve known passages in the Bible since CCD, but I’ve not internalized verses as much as I’d like. With my rededication to God and living a life for Him, I’m making progress.
Last week I was reminded of a verse that says, “Give me your burdens.” I had a huge challenge with an event site where I had held a seminar. I got what was supposed to be a final bill, and although it was much more than expected, I agreed to pay it.
A week later I got another final bill to which they had added an additional $2000. Yikes! What? My initial reaction to that was to get upset. In days of old, with my old thinking, I would have felt and acted like a victim. I would have thrown a bit of a pity party and possibly a hissy fit.
As I grow in my personal journey, I made a new decision to let go of that kind of response and play it God’s way. I prayed about it and asked Jesus to take away my burden. He did. Wow, was I shocked to get an email from the event site saying they would accept the initial amount. I was gearing up for a fight that didn’t materialize.
I’m curious about what will happen with the new burdens I’m handing over. What burdens do you need to hand over?
Thank you God for truth, love, and laughter,
Darren
.
Excellent reminder!
So glad you didn’t have a “hissy fit!” although I would like to witness you having one!!
Looking forward to Nashville!!
Absolutely Darren.
Let Go and let God.
My journey has been made so easy : I learnt at the Divine Centre in Chalakkudi, India, a place for meditation and learning to get close to God, that we only have to surrender our problems, no matter how small or big they are, to Jesus. Just say “Thank you Jesus for this problem, I hand it to You and You handle it Your way !” Sure enough He does it His Way…
May the only true Living God bless and guide you on your journey !

Good message, Darin. One small matter – my mother’s family is from the south. Technically, when something is done to you, you throw a conniption. When you don’t get your own way, you pitch a hissy fit.
What an encouragement this was to me today–God speaking through you to me, Darren 🙂
Thanks for sharing! Great stuff! I am excited to read more of your journey with God.
