In my goal to educate myself about Jesus, I have been watching the mini-series. Though I know there is some Hollywood storytelling in there, I’ve been getting clearer on the whole Bible story.
This is one of my favorite lines in the show, though not word for word: “Twelve men took down the Roman empire with love.” I know God was behind them. I feel a bit silly that I did not realize this about history, but I hope my openness inspires some people to learn more, as well. So much more to learn.
That does give some hope that society today could change for the better.
I am glad you’re being transparent on your Spiritual journey. I have been on one for 43 years and if there is one thing I am sure of it’s that there is no other name given under Heaven by which one can be saved. Acts 4:10-12. I heard a quote the other day that I love. “To the believer there are no questions, and the the unbeliever there are no answers.”
Yes. Everything about Christianity is so counter to popular thinking. I love the lines from “One Solitary Life”–” He never did one of the things that usually accompany greatness. He had no credentials but Himself…” And then there was the selection of his 12 closest followers. What an unlikely group! And then He chose you–and me to carry on the spreading of the message and the love. Wow . . .
