You just never know what God will do with it. What is it? The actions we do in His name. I was nervous and cautious about starting to include this God Blog in my secular eNewsletter. I thought I might lose some people, and I probably have. It’s cool when you do what you know you should do in faith, and God lets you find out about the results.
You and I need to keep in mind that we may see only the iceberg’s tip of the results. We may not see most of them, but in faith we must know there is more He is doing that we do not need to know about. Here’s an email that I got recapping an experience from speaking to the NSA MI Chapter. Sherene told me the story, and I asked her to put it in her words for you. Here it is…
As we were getting ready to have you in to speak to the NSA MI Chapter, I went to your website and was surprised and delighted to see that you had recommitted to your faith and were addressing it publicly. As a Christian who speaks in the secular world, I have feared offending people if I openly identify myself as a Christ follower. In an effort to avoid alienating audiences or losing out on speaking engagements, I’ve opted for silence. At the same time, Luke 9:26 has repeatedly flickered into my mind,
“If anyone is ashamed of me and my message,
the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns
in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.”
Your courage and openness inspire me to be more courageous and to find my voice again. I am so tired of being silent and going bland as vanilla about sharing what I believe. It’s time for me to quit hiding my light under a bushel basket and to put it out so all can see. I love Christ, and, more than anything, I want Him to be proud of me. Thank you for your courage, openness, and example. You’ve inspired me!
Thanks again, Darren!
Sherene
I really appreciate your telling me, Sherene. We sometimes have no idea how our actions inspire others. What we do off stage is just as important as what we do on stage.
Thank you God, for Truth, Love, and Laughter,
Darren
Thanks again Darren for sharing and being an inspiration. It is too bad Christians have to feel intimidated to speak their faith. There was quite a conversation on the TI FB page when someone was asking if a Bible story would be appropriate for the Read Aloud project in the advanced manual. Fortunately most were supportive as they should be but there are a few who said they’d refuse to attend a meeting if any of that “Bible stuff ” was read. In our organization that attitude is totally unacceptable. I’ve been been at our club meeting when people told stories based on their native aboriginal faith. Far from being offended I was enlightened and love to hear views of God that may differ from my own but show those people to be also people of fatih. As Jesus once said. In my father’s house there are many mansions.
