As I bow my head for our brothers and sisters in Paris, I think, “What can we do?” I’m still working on me and my own relationship with God. I’m not an expert in this area; just sharing my journey in the hope that it may help you with yours.
This is what comes to my mind when I think of Paris:
1 Corinthians 12:12
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts,
but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.”
We are all part of the body. Are you a nose? Arm? Leg? Think about it. Consider the butterfly effect. What we do and how we do it affects people around us who have connections, friends, family, and loved ones around the world.
What can we do to be a better friend, father, mother, sister, or brother? Committing to being a better part is what we can do to create a better body. What about in your career? What is it that you do?
If you spend time on stage, you are in a position of influence. It doesn’t matter if you are in front of 12 people or 12,000. I’ve seen professional presenters in front of thousands who wasted their privilege and the time of the people they stood in front of.
If you are a presenter, along with prayers and support we can commit to never taking the stage for granted. We must be excellent. Past NSA President Terry Paulson says, “We are merchants of hope.”
Let’s be better merchants; it is how we serve the world.
We are all in this together.
Thank you God, for Truth, Love, and Laughter,
Darren
