Hi, I’m Darren LaCroix, and I bombed more times than you can imagine starting in 1992. I made all the mistakes (and I think I made up a few new ones) so you don’t have to.

Today I get to speak in front of audiences around the world to inspire and teach them. There is nothing like the feeling of being deeply connected with an audience and having people walk up to you after you have finished saying, “I can never thank you enough” or “That was awesome and just what I needed to hear.”

I get paid to do what I love!

Many people think you are either born a great presenter or not. It’s not true, and I’m living proof. Anyone can learn this. In fact, with the right guidance and effort, any presenter can discover how to own the stage.

I got an email message this week from someone who graduated from high school with me. He had just found out what I get to do for a living. He said, “You? Funny? A famous speaker? But you were the quiet, shy kid.” Yep. I was. Actually, I’m still an introvert off stage. #truth

For a kid who felt invisible in high school, it’s a cool feeling to walk down a hallway at a conference and pass someone who, just an hour before, was a complete stranger and now greets me with a big smile. I made a difference; I’m not invisible anymore. Now I show other presenters how to do just that, truly make a difference for their audiences.

I finally found my voice. And I help other people find theirs.
My Story – From Chump to Champ
How did I get from being a quiet kid who was afraid to speak up to having thousands of people lean in to laugh and listen to me? In the mid 1990s I learned that there is such a thing as a professional speaker, someone who gets paid to go on stage in front of a crowd of people, to educate and inspire them, to make them laugh, and make their lives better.
That sounded awesome!
Only problem was that I was shy. I was not dynamic, not funny, definitely not a public speaker. Becoming a public speaker was obviously unattainable to me. Or was it?
Then I discovered that I could learn the skills. So I tried to learn how to be a speaker. Unfortunately I was learning from people who were barely one step ahead of me. So I learned bad habits that took years to unlearn. For seven years I was trying to figure it out on my own. It was frustrating, time-consuming, and very costly.
It was not until 2001, when I met my coach Mark Brown, that my skills skyrocketed. He showed me how to take the stories I was already telling and make them unforgettable. He showed me the difference between giving a presentation and owning the stage while connecting on a deeper level. I found other world-class coaches too. They changed me, and I’ll never be the same presenter again. If you are serious about getting these insights, you need to know what they taught me. I can’t wait to show you.
I have bottled the process that I learned from Mark and my other coaches. I’ve even distilled down the mistakes I made early on, and I want to show you how to avoid them. I’ve created proven processes for you to follow from our wisdom and experience. This will help you go quickly from where you are now to where you want to be. Through Stage Time University, you can get instant access to these master programs and models so that you don’t have to struggle for years like I did.
Now I have spoken in almost every state and in 35 countries. I get to inspire people to change their lives and become more successful. I would have never dreamed I could do that.

Maybe you’re wondering: Could I do that? Could I own the stage as a presenter?

Listen, if I can do it, you can too.

The principles I learned the hard way, you can quickly understand and implement.

I can show them to you. And I’d love to.

If you’re ambitious, eager, and willing to put in the effort, then you have the potential for owning the stage. What you need is the right insights and processes. That’s what got me on the big stages, leaving a lasting impact on my audiences.

But my favorite thing about my life now is that I get to empower other people to inspire audiences from the stage. These same principles work with ten people in a boardroom and the big stage in front of thousands. You will be in front of audiences I will never be in front of. When I help you inspire people, it lights me up. This is from Business Coach Suni Gayle:

Stage Time University is designed through content, coaches, and community to help you see and experience the difference. You’ll find out how to own the stage and become a presentation master faster.

"This is the speech that you coached me on at Get Coached last month, about getting laid off and then quitting the job from hell. Everyone LOVED it, and several people commented that this was my best speech ever. Specifically, people told me that it was ‘totally engrossing’ and ‘captivating.’It held their attention. And, Darren, I told everyone who came up and spoke to me afterward that the credit goes to Stage Time University and that they should join if they want to take their speaking to the next level!”

What’s the biggest challenge? Well, let me ask you a question:

Are You Trying or Are You Training?

“Training is doing what you can do today, so that tomorrow you can do what you can’t do today.

The right training, over time, breeds greatness.

Do you want to be the best presenter in your niche?
Then train like a champion, with champions,
alongside other presenters striving to be the best.
Content, Coaches, & Community

This is not some course you take once and leave on a shelf.
It’s ongoing, engaging, and often fun.
You can ask coaches for help, check in with community for support and feedback.
We’ll even help keep you accountable if you want.
Think of it this way: If you wanted to learn Spanish, you could buy a book and be on your own or go to Spain for 6 months.
This is an immersion program that you can grow at your pace.

By the way, anyone can slap together a course and call it training. The problem with most training is that it is boring, confusing, and often no true transformation takes place.

Are you trying to own the stage or training to own the stage? Are you trying to be the best presenter in your niche or are you training to be the best presenter in your niche? There is a big difference. Do you think there is a difference between a high school athlete and an Olympic Champion athlete? Yep. One tries, and one undergoes serious training. For seven years I tried to be a great speaker, but it was not until 2001 that I actually got serious and got training.

Question 2:
What makes you the authority on presentation training?

What makes you  the authority on presentation training?

It’s simple. If you want to be the best presenter in your niche, you need the best training. If you want to be a champion, then train like a champion, with champions. All of our programs were created and taught by either 1 or 2 World Champion Speakers. (They out-spoke 35,000 competitors from fourteen countries).

Our trainers are also highly-paid professional speakers. They work in the real world and bring you real-life experience and proven principles. They teach because they love what they do. I don’t know about you, but my favorite teachers were the ones who loved teaching. You will work directly with these world-class coaches who love what they do. Many training companies use people who regurgitate content. Our trainers are the ones who created it from decades of stage time experience.

We believe any presenter can become the best in their niche if you are willing to get the best training and apply our proven techniques when you are on stage.  Be a sponge! Soak up all the best tools and techniques we offer. We make owning the stage attainable by any presenter who is willing to follow our process and put in enough focused effort to get there. Good question. That’s up to you. How badly do you want to be the best presenter in your niche? We designed Stage Time University to be self-paced. You can engage whenever you want as often as you want. We will say this: If you aren’t serious enough to commit at least 30-minutes a week to your own growth as a presenter, this is not for you. The more time you put in the faster you will grow.

How can this be so good if it is that affordable? NO BS!
Question 3: How much time do I need to commit?
What makes you  the authority on presentation training?

Many marketers will tell you, “Just give us $10,000 for our system and you’ll be amazing!” That’s a bunch of B.S.! Becoming the best presenter in your niche and telling unforgettable stories does not happen overnight, but they’d love you to think that.

Some say, “Just take my class and you’ll make a million dollars over the next year.” If you hear that, grab your wallet and RUN! Unless you are an ex-President or a reality TV show star, it ain’t going to happen that quickly. It’s just not realistic. It is possible to make a million dollars but not overnight or even in your first year. It can be possible over time with dedication and with focused effort. There are no gurantees.

“No one earns a black belt in an hour.” Tim Gard, CSP, CPAE

If you are committed to putting in some effort and being a sponge for what we learned the hard way, we will make you a presentation master faster.

When I started my career I was living at home with my parents, trying to pay off college loans and business debt. I felt like the Chris Farley version of the motivational speaker, “I lived in a van down by the river!”

When you learn the cost of investing in Stage Time University, you’ll be shocked, but not because of how high the investment is. More likely you’ll be surprised by how affordable I make it. Let me tell you why.

I know there is another Darren or Darrenette out there who is hungry and eager to put in the effort to become unforgettable on stage but who doesn’t have the financial resources to invest thousands of dollars. I’m committed to keeping it affordable to anyone who is willing to put in the effort. There is so much value in Stage Time that some of my colleagues and even some members say,

“You need to raise the price, it’s way too low.”

I’m committed to helping the person out there with passion and a dream. You benefit from that commitment. Let’s see how serious you are and how far this training can take you. We ask you to commit to at least three months to experience the value and see your own growth.

Annual Presentation Mastery Membership is $390 (2 months free).
Or you can do Presentation Mastery monthly for $39.

If you want to save, you can commit to an annual membership and get 2 months free.
(If you want to learn about the Business of Speaking, we do offer that as well.)
There is no such thing as an overnight success,
but we can get you there faster.

ANY Presenter can own the stage with direction, application, and adjustment (then repeat.) Why wouldn’t you at least check it out? There is very little risk. (Heck, a coffee at Starbucks can be $39. LOL.) This is an outstanding presentation education for a little over a dollar a day. Kind of ridiculous.

No one can take one program and instantly become mesmerizing, but you can instantly gain a new perspective and see exactly what it takes to own the stage.

Honestly, I wanted to make it accessible to ANYONE who was serious. I know where I was when I started. I want Stage Time University to be the place for serious people who care about their message and their audience.

Owning the Stage takes effort + direction and some guidance along the way. New skills and know-how are layered on top of each other over time. In a year we can dramatically improve your ability to craft a presentation.
The more eager you are, the more you will get from this, Darrenteed.

If you have a passion to
If you are already good enough, congrats. Stage Time is not for you.
If you want techniques to manipulate your audience, Stage Time is not for you.
If you think you’ll get rich quickly as a speaker, Stage Time is not for you.
If you think you will become an amazing presenter without effort,
Stage Time is not for you.
“If you’re not coachable, there is no cure.”

The Truth: Whom is the program NOT for?
It can often be boring and frustrating to learn alone and not be able to ask questions of the instructors. You can’t ask them, “What do you mean?” or “What about this?”
Or maybe you have wished you could bounce an idea off a colleague or take a look at what you’ve done so far to make sure you are on the right path. A book can’t do that for you. Stage Time University can.

It took decades to create a simplified process to own the stage.
