Do you take a “Darren day?”

At the TI convention, held at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge, many people were asking what I’ve been up to. I found myself telling people that this is the year of more focus on “fun and personal time.” Once per month I’m sticking around during one of trips, just for the fun of it. I’ve been saying this since the beginning of the year. The year is half over! This month is almost over. Duh!
I thought, how hypocritical, though I have been doing some more, not as much as I could. So here I am at one of my favorite resorts, which I just love the pools, streams, and waterfalls, and I’m not doing what I set out to. I marched up to my room and saw that I have no appointments on Monday (Getting better at keeping my first day back from travel clear too). I immediately changed my flight and called the front desk and told them, I’m staying!
I know if I go back to my office, I’ll work even if I tell myself I won’t. I love what I do, and most of the behind the scenes work too. When was the last time you took a _______ day?
It makes the stage time better!
P.S. I have 602 unread e-mails. Quite frankly, I don’t care at the moment.
After a Boot Camp, an EDGE Summit, and 5 days at the TI convention, it is time to recharge. You?
P.P.S. So… Anyone I promised an answer to on Monday or has e-mailed me in the past five days, you might not get a reply ‘til Tuesday! ;-]
